Chairman of the Board
Independent Advisor

Jukka Norokorpi brings 34 years of experience from the ICT industry. During his vast career, he held executive positions within Nokia, ICL and Teamware Group, a subsidiary of Fujitsu Ltd of Japan.
|
Originally from Finland, Norokorpi worked also in Sweden during 1988 - 1991 and then in UK during 1993-1997. He run the international businesses operations and built business ventures with new distribution channels. He also worked with acquisitions, mergers, integration processes and served as a Board Director for Nordic and US based companies.
Currently Jukka Norokorpi is an independent advisor who specializes in advising ICT companies in their internationalization, partnering strategy and processes. In addition to Smartner, he is a Board Director at HiQ International AB and Frends Technology Oy.
Norokorpi earned a Master of Science degree in Software Engineering from the University of Tampere, Finland.

Executive Vice President, Products and Marketing, Smartner

Ari Backholm joined Smartner in December 1999, just three months after the company was founded. He is one of the four entrepreneurs that have managed Smartner's growth and established relationships with some of the leading players in the mobile industry, including Vodafone,
|
Nokia, Sony Ericsson, and Microsoft.
Backholm heads the products and marketing team responsible for Smartner's global product management and marketing activities. His mission is to ensure that Smartner's solution continues to meet the customer needs and remains the preferred mobile office solution.
Before joining Smartner, Backholm worked for Sedecon Consulting where he oversaw strategy, business development and knowledge management projects for major Finnish and international corporations. Prior to this he was a teaching researcher at the Helsinki University of Technology in strategic management and marketing.
Ari Backholm holds a Master of Science degree in Technology with concentration in Strategy and International Business. He is currently finalising his doctoral thesis at the Institute of Strategy and International Business at the Helsinki University of Technology in Finland.

Partner, EQVITEC Partners Ltd.

Jari Mieskonen is a member of the board and former Chairman. He is a partner at Eqvitec Partners Oy, a leading technology venture fund. At Eqvitec, Mieskonen is responsible for fund raising and international investor relations in addition to direct investments

Mieskonen is also a member of the board of five other wireless software or hardware companies in Finland. Jari Mieskonen has been in the venture capital business for 12 years and his career includes many versatile responsibilities in financing and technology project management. Prior to joining Eqvitec he was director at Sitra responsible for seed financing and technology transfer. Mieskonen has also been a speaker in numerous conferences handling early stage investments.

Executive Vice President, MTV Oy

Mikko Räisänen, M.Sc., Tech, is a member of the Board and one of the start-up phase investors of Smartner through IT Venture Finance. Räisänen has over 20 years of experience in the management of ICT companies both in Finland and internationally.

Räisänen’s experience includes also over 10 years of M&A activities and venture capital where his main contribution has been the validation of business plans and the management of expert organizations.
Currently, Räisänen is the Executive Vice President of MTV Oy, Finlands largest commercial broadcaster and he holds several Board memberships both at MTV group and external companies.

Partner, IT Provider Adviser
Åsa Sundberg is a member of the Board and Partner at IT Provider. She is former CEO of Telia Engineering and Prosoft where she led software development for e-commerce and Internet solutions. Previously, Sundberg was in charge of Telia's international net and carrier business. She holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering Surveying from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden.

Investment Manager, Amadeus Capital Partners Ltd.
Andrea Traversone is a member of the Board and Investment Manager at Amadeus Capital Partners. He joined Amadeus in 1998 and has worked on 10 investments to date including Lastminute.com, Commtag and Red-M.
Traversone joined Villa Playa Dorada S.A. in San Jose, Costa Rica, and Miami, Florida in 1993 and worked there until 1997 in a number of roles from auditor, financial controller, marketing and sales director and finally Executive Vice Chairman in charge of all operations, finance and development.
Traversone holds a degree in Economics, International Trade and Development from LSE and Master of Business Administration from Cambridge, UK.
