OPEN POSITIONS AT SMARTNER

Support Engineer – Cambridge, UK

Working in our Customer Services team you will have an important role in ensuring Smartner’s future success. You will work in our distributed support team providing tier 2 and 3 technical support to our operator, reseller and direct customers. You will have a great opportunity to build broad experience in mobile technologies and enterprise environments in a fast growing company.

The key responsibilities are:

  • Ensuring customer satisfaction with timely, courteous and high quality technical support
  • Documenting all customer interactions and developing and maintaining information for the support knowledge base
  • Providing remote assistance in installation and troubleshooting of Smartner’s products
  • Working together with Smartner’s software engineers to provide solutions to software defects or escalated support requests
  • Providing technical training to Smartner’s customers and partners
We expect that the applicant:
  • Has a strong dedication to customer satisfaction
  • Has 2-5 years experience in technical customer support
  • Has strong analytic problem solving skills
  • Is able to work efficiently and professionally in a multinational team
  • Is able to work simultaneously with multiple support requests and follow them to resolution
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, other languages are a plus
  • Is able to act and communicate in a proactive manner to set customer expectations and resolve conflicts within them
  • Has general experience in enterprise environments
    • Data and Windows networks
    • Messaging systems such as Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino
  • Preferably has experience and knowledge of:
    • Messaging protocols such as SMTP, IMAP, MAPI and DIIOP
    • Lotus Domino environments
    • Programming languages: C, C++, Java, SQL, HTML, WML
    • Various mobile devices
  • Preferably has a Bachelor degree in Computer science or related fields

Technical Project Manager or Consultant - Helsinki, Finland

Do you want to become internationally experienced technical professional? Smartner offers a unique opportunity to join its dynamic Customer Services Team in Helsinki, Finland.

The key responsibilities are:

  • Project planning, project management, and technical consultation
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction of Smartner customers/partners as a technical customer contact
  • Technical sales support activities (pre-sales consulting)
  • Technical support to Smartner’s existing customers

We expect that the applicant:

  • Enjoys working with people
  • Communicates easily with persons with different cultural backgrounds
  • Has analytic problem solving skills
  • Understands basics of IT systems, data security, and mobile technologies
  • Is able to work in UNIX and Windows environments
  • Has fluent written and spoken English, other languages are a plus
  • Is ready to travel, typically once per month, and occasionally visit customer site some weeks in a row
  • Is able to represent Smartner in the customer front leaving a good impression of Smartner as a company
